Alcohol, Drugs and Harmful Addictions Research Centre

The ADARC use a collaborative model to leverage faculty expertise and interests across different departments of the University. The Unit also partner with different agencies, and the government of Uganda as well as with international experts. Currently, there are no other academic units focused on research on alcohol, drugs and addictions in the East African region.

The Centre:

 » Conducts and disseminates research to stake holders,
 »  Build capacity and train new researchers,
 »  Attract funding to support new research, evaluation and briefing materials to policy makers,
 »  Provide the leadership for alcohol, drugs and addictions prevention research in the region by serving as a Centre of Excellence.


To be a centre of excellence in research on alcohol, drugs and general addictions for the East African region.
